Sri Lanka beat Australia to clinch the ODI series Sri Lanka beat Australia by 29 runs in the second One-Day International (ODI) at Sydney today to clinch the three-match series 2-0. This is Sri Lanka's first series win on Australian soil in 26 years and Australia's seventh loss in a row at home. After winning the toss and deciding to bat Sri Lanka posted a 213 total in the rain-drenched match. In reply Australia crashed all out in 37.4 overs for 210 failing to meet the target of 240 runs in 38 overs. Sri Lanka's openers Upul Tharanga and Tillakaratne Dilshan batted steadily until Dilshan was bowled out by Australia's Hauritz at 47. Upul Tharanga's unbeaten 86 and Kumar Sangakkara's 45 brought the Sri Lankan total to a 213/3 in 41.1 overs. Sri Lanka's ace spinner Muralitharan ended his bowling career in Sidney capturing the wickets of Shane Watson and Mike Hussey. Lasith Malinga taking the wicket of CJ McKay crashed the Aussies to lose the series in the home turf.
