The next Rugby World Cup will be held in New Zealand during September & October 2011. 20 teams will compete in 48 games, over 7 weeks. If you have your heart set on being one of the thousands of supporters, then we strongly recommend you start giving some thought to your travel options between games and accommodation.

What travel option combines transport and accommodation?

Motor home and camper van rentals. These vehicles offer the perfect solution for following the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. With 60,000 supporters expected to follow the games, the demand for travel services and rental vehicles such as motor homes and camper vans are expected to be astronomical.

Many rental vehicle operators are currently accepting deposits from supporters to secure vehicles during the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Depending on the number of people you will be touring with, will determine the size of camper you need. Campers can sleep up to 6 people comfortably. Look for vehicles with toilet and shower facilities included as this will likely prove to be a useful feature, especially if you don't book a package deal that includes campground stop over sites.

Special supporters' travel package deals will become available closer to the time with inclusive offerings such as powered camper van / motor home sites, and ferry transfers (as games are being held in both the North and South Island's of New Zealand).

There will be a total of 48 Rugby World Cup games in 13 different cities of New Zealand including: Auckland, Rotorua, New Plymouth, Wellington, Whangarei, Hamilton, Napier, Palmerston North, Nelson, Christchurch, Invercargill and Dunedin. Ticket prices are due to be announced late in 2009 or early 2010. World Cup tickets will be available from official ticketing and tour agents.

Check out the Official Rugby World Cup website to find out all about the 20 teams from around the world that will be competing, who will be playing who and when, information about the players and much more.

Don't miss out on what will be an amazing 7 weeks of competitive rugby. If you haven't been to New Zealand before then you will get to experience our beautiful country during the spring season, and with daylight saving occurring in late September you can enjoy longer days with more sunshine. So get onto pre-booking your motor home or camper van rental today!
