South Africa 2010 World Cup Official Song - Waving Flag - RPA 2010 - Hiszpania Portugalia

W 63. minucie wreszcie Andres ...

World Cup Fever

Image : http://www.flickr.com

It's that time again - the World Cup is upon us. People all over the world are getting ready to support their country's team, hoping to win and prove themselves the best in the world. The World Cup has, over the years, become much more than a simple football contest: today, it is a worldwide phenomenon, a kind of weaponless world war, where every country's national pride is at stake.

Ironically, a real world war nearly put a stop to the World Cup altogether. The World Cup started in 1930, at a time when tensions remained from World War I and the build-up to World War II was beginning, and many people were understandably reluctant to travel internationally. The tournament was cancelled altogether in 1942 and 1946, and governments in 1950 were more interested in rebuilding their countries than hosting football tournaments. It was only thanks to Brazil stepping in to host the 1950 World Cup that the tournament survives today.

Since Brazil saved the World Cup almost 60 years ago, they have won the cup five times, more than any other team in the world, leading many to say of football that "the English invented it, but the Brazilians perfected it". Only Germany and Italy have come anywhere close to their performance, each having one the cup three times.

The World Cup is organised in three stages: first, the qualifiers, then the finals group stage, then finally the knockout stage. Only 32 teams can qualify for the finals, which is the stage of the tournament people are usually referring to when they talk about the World Cup, leading to painful humiliation for countries that fail to qualify. Some countries haven't qualified for a long time - Canada, for example, has failed to qualify since 1990, and Israel hasn't qualified since 1974.

In the group stage, the qualifying teams are organised into groups of four, with each team playing every other team in its group. The top two teams then go through to a knockout tournament, organised as quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final.

It is being hosted in Germany in 2006, South Africa in 2010, and South America in 2014, possibly once again in Brazil.

England Will Win the World Cup in 2010 You Better Believe It

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The English football team is back and back with a bang. The team which is now managed by Fabio Capello is playing with lots of confidence and to their strengths, pressing teams, playing with passion and pace. Watch out for them in 2010, they will be hot favourites when the tournament commences, I think they are certainties, well this is my opinion anyway. In this article I will explain just why England can and will win the football World Cup in 2010.

England have just beaten Croatia in their own back yard, four goals to one. It was an awesome performance with players like Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard running the midfield. Croatia are currently ranked as the fifth best team in the world and they lose 4-1 to England.

Capello has targeted the strengths of England, the Premier League is the best league in the world and the pace of the games is quite incredible. For some reason previous England teams played a rather slow continental type game, why? It just does not make sense. Capello has realised this and the players are now chasing down each ball, winning the fifty-fifty challenges and playing as if their lives depended on it.

The English press and supporters have been very critical of the team over the last few years, quite rightly so as they have not been playing anywhere to the levels that they should be. The negative reaction has been more to do with the apparent lack of effort and passion, it was if they did not care. This was just not acceptable and hopefully has changed for good.

A successful English football team can lift the whole country and if the players can win the World Cup in 2010 they will be national heroes for life. Come on lads, you can do it.

Players like Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Theo Walcott and Ashley Young will be the catalyst to victory in South Africa, I am convinced about it.

South Africa and the 2010 Soccer World Cup - The Challenges

Image : http://www.flickr.com

South Africa is a beautiful country and has the potential to be a wonderful location for the event. In the past South Africa has proven itself to be successful in hosting major sporting events. The Rugby world cup of 1995 and the Cricket world cup of 2003 were hosted by South Africa.

For the 2010 Soccer World Cup to be a success, there are a couple of challenges for South Africa. Every South African hopes that all will stand together to ensure the success of the event!

Airport

OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg will be tested to its capacity limits with the arrival of thousands of tourists, fans, players, media, etc that will flock to South Africa for this major event. Unfortunately there are limited flights to the other South African International Airports (Durban, Cape Town, and Lanseria). OR Tambo Int. Airport can be a major bottleneck. ACSA (Airport Company of South Africa) is busy with projects to upgrade the infrastructure. Will it be enough? Will it be completed on time?

Traffic

The major roads in South Africa are already utilized over capacity. With a lack of adequate public transport, this could be a big frustration for soccer fans that needs to get to and from the stadiums. Maybe the Gautrain project will be a success to help alleviate the congestion on the roads? Maybe South Africa can implement a couple of additional public holidays on those days when important soccer events take place?

Crime

I do hope that in the times building up to the start of the 2010 Soccer World Cup that South Africa will come up with a brilliant plan to tackle the crime problem. This is serious, and possibly the biggest single reason why lots of soccer fans will spend the World Cup watching the games on television, internet, or cell phones in the safety of their own homes. The crime problem needs to be addressed as number 1 priority by Politicians, the Justice System, Department of Safety and Security, Police, Correctional Services, and every citizen of South Africa. There is a perception that the crime levels in South Africa is too high. Perceptions matter, so weather it is a true reflection or not, South Africa needs to make a plan!

Stadiums

Will the stadiums be completed on schedule? They should. Progress has been delayed a couple of times due to increasing costs and striking workers.

Crowd Control

Will the local soccer fans behave themselves outside and inside of the stadium? There have been instances of violence when fans could not get tickets for a game and was refused entry at the gates. Hopefully the security and crowd control will be of a high standard to ensure the safety of the players and spectators.

Bafana Bafana

Bafana Bafana - South Africa's National Soccer Team. Will Bafana Bafana be ready and up to their task to be competitive in the event? Currently the team does not have a very good winning record against 1st Class competition. I do hope that they will not be a disgrace for South Africa.

Electricity

Will ESKOM (The national electricity supplier) be able to cope with the load? Currently South Africa is experiencing some major black-outs. Load Shedding plans are in place to share and minimize loss of electricity. It might however have a big impact on the hospitality services, stadium lights, traffic, etc. I am not sure if there is enough time to add more electricity capacity before the kickoff.

Conclusion:

I am sure that if all South Africans stand together and work hard that the above challenges can be overcome! Let's give them our support!

Huge All Race Mens' Gathering in South Africa

Image : http://www.flickr.com

An estimated 300,000 men gathered on a farm belonging to South African farmer/evangelist, Angus Buchan over the past weekend. It was probably one of the largest gatherings of men for a Christian event ever. Some came from as far afield at Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Angus Buchan is a farmer turned evangelist who exhorts people to trust God for the impossible, drawing on his personal experience of the miraculous. The author of the book, "Faith Like Potatoes", now also a movie, says he has seen God intervene in his life many times. Buchan says his farm was once saved from a raging bushfire by his family's fervent prayers for rain; that he has seen a farm worker raised from the dead, after she was struck by lightning, and that God has come through for him with a miracle crop of potatoes in the face of the severest drought

Crowd Estimates

Buchan refused to comment on the numbers attending the conference. He referred to the Biblical story of David who commissioned a census out of pride and was later punished. He determined not to fall into the same trap. However he was prepared to say it was the largest gathering of Christian men in the world as far as he knew. He added, "There is no stadium in the world that could hold this number of men." Pastor Bruce Winship, official spokesman for the conference earlier declined to give any official estimates of the crowd other that to say that this years number far exceeded that of last year when 150,000 men were present.

There was no sign of racism in the previously racially segregated apartheid dominated South Africa. Blacks, Whites, asians and mixed race men were united in their religious fervour. This event comes as a timely precursor to the international scrutiny that South Africa will receive for the upcoming FIFA 2010 world cup.

About 60 planes crowded out the small airport a few miles from the Conference gathering. Whilst lines of cars stretched for miles as they approached the farm. The tent village erected for the conference stretched over 3 million square meters on three farms. Following the dramatic scenes last year when he collapsed with a suspected heart attack and had to be airlifted to a local hospital, Buchan demonstrated his fitness by jumping up and down and doing several press-ups and declaring, "Do I look sick?"

Message Of Hope

The weekend's messages largely followed the theme of preparing men to go out and carry the message of hope. Buchan also spoke on the need to listen to God. He recognized the business of their lives but he urged the men to be still and listen to God. He then let the men sit in complete silence for five minutes so they could come to a stop and listen to God. He spoke of the fear for the nation's future, "Don't run away from South Africa," he thundered, "Your problems will follow you wherever you go." On several occasions Buchan called on the men to be true men and not wimps. He said Christian men must take lead in their homes and families. They must place Christ at the head of their homes and places of work. Like Joshua of old they must declare, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." He further stated that men would never be able to be spiritual leaders in their homes if they themselves have not put their own lives in order.

Buchan warned against negative talk and attitude towards the situation in South Africa. "I believe our nation will change. I see new South Africa, a land of peace and tranquility," he said. He called on the men to confess their sins and to live for God without reservation. "God is here not to judge you but to give you a second chance. Responses Inevitably there were critics who questioned his motives and his message. But one of South Africa's most experienced and respected evangelists and Christian leaders, Rev Michael Cassidy, said he had never experienced any gathering to equal that of the Mighty Men conference. Cassidy who is the founder and Director of Africa Enterprise has led mass evangelistic efforts throughout Africa and other parts of the world. "But nothing we have seen in Africa comes anywhere close to this unique gathering of men," he said. "This gathering offers a challenge for church leaders to get back to the simple Biblical message of the gospel which has been lost in many churches. Angus Buchan's message touches a nerve because there is a great spiritual hunger in the land."

Future Plans

Buchan has gained the reputation as South Africa's Billy Graham. He was nostalgic over what has been accomplished over the past seven years and the impact on men around the nation. "When I began seven years ago people asked me, Why do you call it "Mighty Men"? Aren't Christians supposed to be meek and humble? "I told them we are humble, but we are also strong in the Lord. We must hold our heads up high and boldy walk in God's way." Buchan announced that in the future many more such conferences would be held regionally in South Africa as well as in far away places such as Pakistan, India, Australia, the USA and Canada. Buchan called on his audience to become a mighty army that would carry the message far and wide.

Choosing Cricket Batting Gloves

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Protective equipment is especially important to the cricket batter, necessary protection includes a helmet with face guard, leg pads, and gloves and a box or cup, batting gloves are used to prevent injuries to the hand.

Sometimes injury is unavoidable and in fact broken fingers are one of the most common injuries in a wide range of sports. Injuries to the hand or fingers usually occur from a player catching the ball or from the impact of a hit. Common injuries to the hand include ligament sprains, fractures and dislocations. They are really important to protect from possible direct impact of the ball which can be excruciatingly painful.

Batting gloves are also worn to help increase the grip on the bat, maintaining a tight and controlled grip is essential to ensuring successful hits. You should take great care in choosing the right cricket gloves, ensuring the fingers of the gloves have flexible padded areas with extra protection to the thumb.

CA Sports Ltd is now a famous world class producer of all cricket equipment. This reputable manufacturer provides high quality products, and can recommend three cricket batting gloves for your preference. Suggested batting gloves are CA PLUS Premium, CA Pro 2000 and CA Power. The first two models are available for right hand and left hand batsmen whereas the last one is only available for right hand batsmen only. The CA Plus Premium and CA Pro 2000 models are designed with premium sheep skin and soft palm, a double protection reinforcement layer, flexible finger area construction with an improved finger chamber system for protection and comfort. The CA Power glove is designed with good quality PU upper, leather and cotton palm fusion. This manufacturer has been conducting research since 1958 to meet the consumers need about their cricket equipment including, bats, gloves etc.

Game over Mexico 2 - EU 1 Marcador final 12 De agosto 2009 Eliminatoria Sud Africa 2010

Partido de eliminatoria rumbo al mundial de Sud Africa 2010 The Mexico vs. USA August 12 Soccer Game Presented an Impressive World Cup Qualifier Match Mexico vs USA results from the World Cup qualifier are in. The Mexico vs USA results? Mexico defeating the USA 2-1 in order to win the World Cup qualifying match. The USA vs Mexico soccer game was attended by an estimated 105000 fans at Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico. The home field advantage for the Mexico squad seemed to be a huge benefit for Mexico, and heading into the US vs Mexico World Cup qualifier, Mexico had a historical record of 22-0-1 against the United States. The United States had never won a World Cup qualifier match in Mexico before, and it meant that they would have to overcome a lot history on August 12th. In the ninth minute of the first half, the United States were able to take one to zero lead on a ball that was forwarded by Donovan to Davies, who tucked the ball neatly into the far net for the first goal of the match. The energy of the goal pushed the United States into an exciting few moments for the team, giving them a lead and showing that they weren't going to be intimidated by the loud Mexico crowd. The lead only held up for about 10 minutes anyways, as Mexico brought the ball forward in the 19th minute of the match, and Castro was able to tie the game with a goal. Castro was able to take a very nice shot from near the top of the box and fired in what seemed like about a 25 yard strike that ...

How to Be a Soccer Coach

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Many, many men and women give up a large part of their personal free time for very good causes.

Many of them pass on their valuable knowledge and experiences in sports such as soccer, or football, if you're not from the USA.

Perhaps their own kids play in the team they coach and manage and while this is sometimes a thankless task and very hard work (I've been there) it's also very rewarding when you can pass on your own knowledge and skills.

But how can you make the soccer coaching better? How can you make your soccer skills training better?

Perhaps you were or are a very good player yourself and want to pass this on but can't get your ideas over to the people you want to coach.

How can you be a soccer coach?

There are many many junior and amateur soccer teams locally to you and all over the world. In fact how many of you have started your own team or taken over the running, coaching or managing of a soccer team?

Once you have started to run or want to help out in the soccer coaching or be a soccer coach you'll need to have some knowledge of how to actually be a soccer coach.

These days the leagues (whichever type of standard) are more competative than ever and so you'll need a more structured way of soccer coaching.

Some of the things you'll need to cover when you want to be a soccer coach are-

Skills, drills and techniques, skill tests, fitness drills, set plays or set pieces from corners, free kicks and throw ins, nutrition and fitness, as well as covering basics such as passing, heading, warming up, crossing, defending, goalkeeping, shooting, defending, ballwork, running with the ball, juggling etc. etc.

Time is always very important, especially if you're trying to juggle your soccer coaching sessions during the week with work or school commitments, so use whatever time you have wisely and don't waste it. Once you've got a structure in place for your soccer coaching you'll want to keep things fresh and keep your players buzzing and enjoying their training sessions, the more enjoyment your players get out of a soccer coaching session then the more likely they are to put what you've taught them into practice during a match.

If you've got a resource you can have in front of you, or look at anytime you've got a spare few minutes, you can use this to plan your next soccer coaching session.

Perhaps THE best and comprehensive coaching guide on the web right now can be found here. http://www.beasoccercoach.info

Seasonal Flowers - Winter Flowers of South Africa

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Whether you find yourself in the cold, wet Cape region with howling winds and driving rain, or in the sunny but icy Highveld, winter often creates the impression of a grey, barren time where all that is alive seeks to hide from the cold. In contrast to this, vibrant colourful flowers seem out of place and are usually not top-of-mind during these seemingly inhospitable months.

During the winter months

There are, however, a vast variety of winter flowers that thrive during these months and are, very possibly, the exact medicine needed to fight the blues when the skies are dull and the chilly wind cuts right to the bone. What about the special occasions that may arise during these months such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays or simply lovely romantic gestures that can only be expressed with a bunch of gorgeous flowers?

The best part is that you do not need to weather the cold to bring a spot of warm colour into your home or office. Thanks to the existence of online flower stores, a splash or colour and floral indulgence is just a click or two away.

The options are wide and you'll be surprised to find that there are flowers to get you through winter for literally any occasion. For the more reserved and stately there are lovely lavender and dahlias - timeless classics that never go out of fashion.

If the occasion calls for something more stately, nothing says it better than stylish and elegant irises and gladioli, or, of course, the striking and sculptured strelitzia. Naturally, these remarkable flowers need not only be the basis of a so-called serious flower arrangement. You can find many fresh and innovative ways to present these beauties at your leading online florist.

The hyacinth is also a very versatile flower that can be dressed up or down, so to speak. This flower would add splendour as part of a formal arrangement or can form the focal point of a simple arrangement that makes a graceful statement.

Flowers are definitely not meant to be enjoyed only on certain occasions. This could not be truer during these harsh winter months, when a splash of colour could brighten up even the most melancholy winter afternoon. For these days a great investment would be in chirpy anemones, the famous (but never tired) daisies and joyful rununculus.

More warm, vibrant colours that would put that extra spring in your step and a smile on your face can be found in the ultra-colourful selections of calendula, the bright cheer of daffodils and, of course, in the simple beauty of fragile Iceland poppies.

Unexpected delights

Winter also offers a few unexpected and unconventional delights. Many aloes flower during this period. Kings XI Punjab V Delhi Daredevils

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Delhi Daredevils start the tournament where they left in the IPL 2009 league stage as they secured their first win of the tournament thanks to a fantastic performance by the leader of the Daredevil pace attack Dirk Nannes and a great innings of 72 by the captain Gauti himself.

Gauti won the toss earlier on and chose to bowl without hesitating. This hardly came as surprise after seeing their past record while chasing. Delhi played their expected li, but had to replace Ashish Nehra with Yo Mahesh, who bowled decently in the first season. They went in with the usual AB De Villiers and Dilshan along with Maharoof and Nannes as their foreign players.

Delhi bowled well in the first few overs as Nannes bowled a tight spell and Maharoof claimed Bisla's wicket. In his 3rd over, Maharoof got Sangakara and Yuvi as well with Gauti taking a good catch running backwards. Sangwan in his 2nd over showed why the Daredevils persisted with him. He claimed Jayawardene's wicket as Kings XI struggled at 44/4 in the 7th. KXIP required a good partnership to set up a respectable total in their opening fixture, and that isexactly what they gotfrom all rounder Irfan Pathan and opener Ravi Bopara. They contributed 60 runs in just more than 7 overs as Bopara smashed his half century. Daredevils struck thrice in 3 overs as Mishra quickly gets rid of out of form Mohammad Kaif and Yo Mahesh of Bopara for a well made 56. Sreesanth ends the innings by smashing a few balls for fours. KXIP end their innings at 142/9.

Delhi couldn't have asked for a better bowling display. What they didn't want is a top order collapse as they were playing a weak lower-middle order. That's exactly what they didn't get. Sehwag, after hitting a couple of boundaries, was dismissed by Sreesanth in the 2nd over. Dilshan followed with a duck. Gambhir and AB looked to settle the innings as they played quiet cricket for a couple of overs, though for the dardevils, even quiet cricket can't be less than 6 runs an over. AB got run out the 8th over after diving full length trying to get in. Good throw by Jayawardene. Don't know why he didn't look convinced though..

Dinesh Karthik stepped in and he along with Gambhir played a very quiet couple of overs after which Karthik smashed 3 fours in Piyush Chawla's over. However, the very next over, Delhi suffer the 2nd run out of their innings in the form of Dinesh Karthik. Daredevils were in a tight situation at 79/4 with no batsman but Mithun to follow.

Mithun and Gambhir ensured that nobody else from their team was required to anything out of the ordinary to get a win. Even a tight bowling display by Yuvraj couldn't stop Gauti getting his first win int the IPL as captain. Unfortunately though, he couldn't finish the job as he got out for a brilliant 72 with Delhi needing just 3 runs to win. Manhas hit the winning runs off the second last delivery of the match to secure Daredevil's first 2 points on the table.

Man of the match was none other than Gauti for his brilliant knock of 72 in just 54 balls. Delhi are the team to beat at the moment.

Football Trend is on the Rise

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The game of football, known as soccer in the United States, has been played in European villages and cities since the early middle ages. It has come a long way since those early mob games with pig bladder balls, but the excitement and intensity of the game endure to modern times. Almost every country in the world has a team, and each team carries the weight of national pride into every game. Europe has its own league, which features teams that represent separate cities. Many countries, however, only have the national team, and their main goal is to qualify for the FIFA World Cup every four years.

The Game's Development
In the early 1930s an international football tournament was created so that teams from around the world could get together to compete for a world championship. These early World Cup games were as intense as the modern ones, and each country sought the honor of winning the Golden Nike trophy every four years. When the FIFA organization took over in 1970 it increased the marketing potential and global reach of the World Cup, and the sport grew even more in popularity.

Rising Popularity
Between the 1970s and today there has been a substantial and steady increase in the popularity of football. The advent of mass communication has made it possible for people in every corner of the world to watch important matches that they might not have seen in previous decades. The players have become instant celebrities, and they are on everyone's television and radio selling products for their sponsors. The sale of team-related items, such as shirts or jerseys, has propelled the sport into a more commercial role. It has also given fans a new way to support their teams through their daily attire.

International Ramifications
With football teams representing their home countries, there are natural international elements to the games. When a country faces another country in a sporting event, it is easy to create more meaning behind the game. Fans become more passionate when facing rival countries, and they feel a more intimate connection with their team because they feel that they are all represented as a nation. This can lead to some outrageous behavior in the viewing stands, and sometimes degenerates into violence. Countries have become more serious about policing games and ensuring the safety of fans during emotionally charged matches.

The Future of the Game
Football has a bright future. It has always been a very popular sport worldwide, but its appeal is still growing. Fans are discovering the game and appreciating it more and more. The World Cup rivals only the Olympics when it comes to international viewers. If the escalation in fan violence can be successfully dealt with, there is no reason that the game wouldn't just continue to rise in popularity worldwide. More fans mean more sponsorship and more sponsorships means more revenue for each club. Even the United States, long ambivalent toward the sport, has become more involved in football during recent years.

Taxi Service - How to Find and Choose

Image : http://www.flickr.com

No matter where you live, there is a taxi company in your area. Whether you live in a bustling city such as New York and Chicago, or in the quiet mid-west like Fargo, there will always be a demand for cab service. This guide will give you basic outline on what to look for when choosing a taxi company.

Even in the smallest of cities, there can be dozens of cab companies operated by owner operators and small businesses. This makes it's hard to weed out the good ones from the bad. The first thing you should do is go online and look for a taxi service directory or use Google "taxi service" followed by "your area". This will pull up a list of local cab companies in your area. From the list, try to select at least three to five taxi companies. Now that you have your list in hand, it's time to do a little research. Two of the best websites for this are Rip-off Report and the Better Business Bureau. Most reputable companies will be part of the Better Business Bureau or at the very least a taxi association. Also, please keep in mind that any reviews on Rip-off Report are only one side of the story and can even be malicious competitors trying to ruin the taxi services name. Use your own judgment to find out if this person had a genuinely bad experience or is out for blood. Now that you have done your research, it's time to call your list.

It's important to ask a few questions upfront when calling the cab companies. The first thing to ask is hours of operation. Most taxi companies will be 24/7, but some of the smaller companies will open only until 3 AM. This can be very important depending on if you're just looking for airport pickup or you need a ride home from the late-night bar crawling. Now that's out of the way the next thing to ask is how much their rates are and be sure to get a quick estimate on how much it will cost to get you from point A to your point of destination. You should have your addresses on hand and be ready to tell them the miles you will be traveling. After you have called all the cab companies on your list, it's now time to choose your service.

Please keep in mind that the cheapest service is not always the best one to go for. Sometimes it's worth paying a little extra to get that service with all the positive praise and reviews. At least you are not tied to any service plan like other businesses and one bad cab ride can't hurt you.
